Purpose of preventive planning
Preventive maintenance planning is designed to help users remember routine checks before small issues become harder to understand. The planned workflow is conservative: create reminders, review the printer, record what happened, and adjust future notes based on real observations.
Possible routine tasks
- Visual inspection before a long print job.
- Cleaning dust, filament debris, or residue from accessible areas.
- Checking belts, motion, fans, cable paths, or build surfaces according to manufacturer guidance.
- Reviewing previous notes before replacing a part or changing a maintenance interval.
Important limits
Planned reminders should be treated as prompts only. They cannot confirm that a printer is safe, correctly tuned, or free of faults. Users remain responsible for inspection, safety, repair decisions, and following manufacturer printer documentation.
