Documentation in progress

Preventive maintenance is planned as a reminder workflow.

NozzleNote by BMR is intended to support routine maintenance planning, but it should not be presented as a safety system, automatic diagnostic tool, or replacement for manufacturer guidance.

Purpose of preventive planning

Preventive maintenance planning is designed to help users remember routine checks before small issues become harder to understand. The planned workflow is conservative: create reminders, review the printer, record what happened, and adjust future notes based on real observations.

Possible routine tasks

  • Visual inspection before a long print job.
  • Cleaning dust, filament debris, or residue from accessible areas.
  • Checking belts, motion, fans, cable paths, or build surfaces according to manufacturer guidance.
  • Reviewing previous notes before replacing a part or changing a maintenance interval.

Important limits

Planned reminders should be treated as prompts only. They cannot confirm that a printer is safe, correctly tuned, or free of faults. Users remain responsible for inspection, safety, repair decisions, and following manufacturer printer documentation.
